New memorial stone provided by Gwinnells pays tribute to RAF in Clacton

A new RAF association memorial stone paying tribute to those who died fighting for their country has been unveiled in Clacton's seafront gardens.
Former RAF personnel and their families attended a special service of dedication conducted by the Rev David Lower at the Memorial Gardens.
Clacton RAFA president Ken Butcher laid a wreath at the end of the service.
Ken Butcher, Clacton RAFA President, said:
"The new memorial stone stands proudly alongside those of the Burma Star and Marines in the gardens.
"It is there to remember the men and women of the town and all others who served in any capacity with the Royal Air Force and who unselfishly gave their lives for the benefit of others."
The memorial stone replaces an old plaque and was made by Roy Gwinnell of R Gwinnell & Sons funeral directors.
